WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a medical cosmetic procedure where very fine needles puncture the skin to various depths to cause a controlled injury and induce the skin to make more collagen, resulting in clearer complexion. Using the high technology equipment from Dermaspark and professional quality products, microneedling becomes one of the most cost-effective solutions for: wrinkles, scars, hyper-pigmentation, hair growth, enlarged pores, stretch marks, sagging skin and other common skin conditions.
The TWIST device needles the skin with the highest quality, non-traumatic needles at high speeds of 150 strokes per second. Creating more than a milion healing centers in the targeted layers, triggering the non-emergency wound healing process of the skin (healing without scarring). This process triggers the dormant fibroblasts to become active and multiply, increasing the production of new collagen and elastin fivers without causing any scarring.

HOW LONG DOES THIS PROCEDURE TAKE?
The prep time is 30 minutes which includes double cleansing and 20 minutes for the numbing. The face is needled for approximately 15 – 20 minutes, followed with a mask that’s on the skin for 20 minutes. Total time without addiontal add-ons is 90 minutes.
IS THIS ONLY FOR THE FACE?
NO, This can be done on other areas of the body that you have concerns with. Face, Neck, Decollate, Back, Legs,Arms, Hands.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
This varies from person to person as everyone has different needs and goals also factoring in the condition of the skin / hair, persons age, lifestyle.
Scalp for hair growth Full protocol is 8 treatments done weekly / biweekly.
Anti-Aging, Wrinkles, Texture, Stretch Marks 3-6 sessions that are done every 6 weeks.
Acne Scars, Ice Pick marks 4-6 sessions are recommended that are done every 6 weeks.
Pigment Correction, PIH, Melasma, Age Spots Full protocol is 7 treatments that are done every 3 weeks.
DOES IT HURT?
The treatment is well tolerated because the skin is numbed. However you may expect to feel some discomfort when treating delicate areas.
WHO CAN’T HAVE THIS TREATMENT DONE?
There are some contraindications for which this treatment is not suitable for : Cardiac disease, Pregnancy, Chemotherapy/Radiation, Skin Cancer, Accutane (within 6 months) HIV, Uncrontrolled diabetes, Keloid/hypertrophic scaring, Active Acne, Rosacea with imflammation, Eczema, Psoriasis or Dermatitis.
You should consult your physician in the case of : Blood thinner medications, Hormone replacement therapy, Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, Bleeding disorders, Severe telangiectasia or Spider veins, Erythema or Brusing, allergy to Lidocaine (used for numbing).
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Results are not immediate because the healing process is completed only after 4-6 weeks and collagen remodelling can linger for months. Results are most noticable 1-3 months after the last session. The skin aging is an unstoppable process therefore results are not permanent. In addition, results are individual and greatly depend on the client’s individual skin parameters, life style and adherence to home-care routines.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT IS DONE?
We use top quality equipment and products to significantly reduce the downtime. The skin is expected to be red and sensitive for about 24 – 48 hours after the treatment. You may experience some slight skin flaking.
